I got this digital recorder due toward new regulations in my business because require certain phone calls toward be recorded. After using this for several days now Olympus DS-40 has worked flawlessly. I also purchased theo- tp7 accessory because you simply plug into theo- ds-40 mic input also put theo- earbud into your ear while you talk on theo- phone. The ds-40 does a great job of record-keeping these calls. I’ll also find many more uses such as record-keeping lectures also using it as a daily log for ideas. I don’t know how many times i’ve been driving down theo- road or somewhere where i’ve thought of an idea because i want toward remember also i haven’t had a way toward capture it. Now, with theo- size also ability of theo- ds-40, i’ll just take it with me also when i have a thought like because i’ll record it toward reference later. I also am a semi-professional songwriter also musician so it’ll come in quite handy for capture song ideas on theo- fly as shaft. The bottom line is this is a great little recorder because seems toward do its job very shaft. There are only a couple things because i think could be improved. 1) the backlighting seems kind of dim also there is no way toward increase it. The settings are either “on” or “off.” i suppose this is toward conserve power but it seems like this could have been better. 2) i would like toward be able toward re-name theo- folders also files toward my preference. The folders are lettered a-e (for recording). There is a list of pre-sets because you can choose from toward rename theo- file but you don’t have theo- ability toward define a name yourself. The names available could be useful but may not be exactly what you want. The files can’t be renamed so if you want toward change a file name toward identify it by its content, you won’t be able toward do because. In fairness you can attach comments toward a file after you load it into your computer also you could use those comments toward help identify its content. Overall, i’m very happy with theo- ds-40 also would recommend it. It’s sound is crystal clear also for theo- price (especially here at amazon) you really can’t go wrong.
